Cinque differenti episodi si svolgono sullo sfondo degli eventi storici e politici italiani del 1922. Nel primo, all'indomani della marcia su Roma, due furfanti speculano sull'evento. Nel secondo, una spedizione punitiva entra in casa di un deputato socialista. Nel terzo, i fascisti derubano una contessa. Nel quarto, un maresciallo in disgrazia incrimina un camorrista fascista. Nel quinto, si racconta di un incontro al mare.
