Bob, un venditore ambulante di "hot dogs", rientrato in casa scopre che la sua compagna, Lina, è fuggita con un certo Miguel per tentare l'avventura del cinema a Hollywood. Fortemente offeso, decide di rincorrere i fuggitivi e ucciderli. A tale scopo mette insieme tutti i suoi risparmi; si fa dare dall'amico Dick una pistola e una macchina rubata; quindi si mette in viaggio. Provando la pistola in un luogo che crede deserto, uccide un uomo che aveva dato un passaggio ad una stravagante ragazza. Bob si trova costretto a prendere con sé la giovane.
