Licensed use of movie posters and posters

Whenever an image from a film is used—including posters and lobby cards—it is necessary to obtain a usage license from the rights holders.

Our film poster and lobby card archive boasts thousands of images created by Master Poster Painters. As authorized licensees of such precious materials, we provide the opportunity to enrich projects safely and legally. From publishing to exhibitions, television and film productions, documentaries, set design, and even fashion show installations, the applications for posters and lobby cards are increasingly diverse and exciting.

Film, television and theater set design

Set design encompasses everything within the frame of a camera or the backdrop of a theatrical performance. Bringing visual beauty to the stage or screen enhances every element of a production, immersing audiences in the experience and amplifying the power of the spectacle.

Set designers know that a production’s success depends not only on music and performers but also on what surrounds them. Many industry professionals have found in us a trusted partner, offering the most sought-after materials along with full guarantees of legal compliance and usage rights.

Exhibitions and Event Installations

Our extensive archive has always been at the service of event and art exhibition organizers, who understand the crucial role of aesthetics in creating immersive experiences.

Exhibition setups must captivate, remain memorable, and forge a direct connection with audiences, transforming into all-encompassing encounters. Whether for an event or an exhibition dedicated to film posters, a specific artist, or an actor's career, posters and lobby cards trace the evolution of aesthetic taste from the past to the present.

This extraordinary narrative power, combined with the artistic prestige these materials have gained over time, has made them some of the most desired and beloved exhibition elements among curators.

Editorial projects

Images are a highly effective communication tool, whether depicting objects, places, people, or abstract elements.

Used as covers or within a more complex layout, posters and playbills enhance the meaning and emotional impact of accompanying text. They evoke memories of bygone eras, filled with passion and cultural vibrancy, elevating emotional engagement to new heights.

Publishing professionals who choose to work with us know they can access extraordinarily rare works, backed by a team capable of delivering flawlessly restored images.

Graphic designs Projects

Film posters and playbills are widely used in graphic design, from vinyl and DVD covers to fabric prints for fashion and interior design, and even in various product merchandising applications.

The graphic adaptability of these images allows them to seamlessly transition across different fields, maintaining their strong communicative power. Over time, they have evolved from being graphic design pieces themselves to becoming symbolic representations of sociocultural contexts—integral elements in modern creative projects. By transcending their status as works of art, they transform into icons of an era and its emotions.

Interior design

Decorating a space means more than just selecting furniture styles, shapes, and colors—it also involves choosing the right wall art.

Whether the desired aesthetic is classic or modern, a framed print or canvas can define a space, adding an elegant, timeless touch.

This is why, in recent years, many interior designers have turned to us for high-definition, meticulously restored prints to bring character to both private and public spaces.

A skilled interior designer understands that surrounding oneself with beautiful things has countless positive effects on mood, and we take great pride in providing the best possible prints to our customers.

Rights

Article 12 of the Italian Copyright Law states that the economic rights of an intellectual work belong exclusively to the author. The author, at their discretion, may transfer these rights to another party.

Master Poster Painters acquired the original rights to the works they created. In fact between the 1930s and 1990s, the promotion of newly released films relied on posters and playbills, which were independently crafted by the artists themselves, only after the film was completed.

Once finished, these works were presented to distribution companies, which granted temporary usage licenses limited to theatrical screenings. After the theatrical run ended, nearly all Master Poster Painters transferred the economic rights of their works to S.A.C. S.r.l..

In turn, S.A.C. S.r.l. granted the licensing rights to SacWebphoto S.r.l.. As a result, SacWebphoto S.r.l. holds the exclusive right to license these images for temporary use and specific purposes.
